Gary, I like radishes, but I use them so infrequently. Do you use them only for salads, or do you have other ways of incorporating them in some other types of dishes? Thanks.

I planted radishes in a raised bed and they're not growing. The bulbs haven't grown at all and the leaves stems are 3 inches tall with small leaves. They have also been growing for 5 weeks in full sun. I live in a very warm, humid climate and the type of radishes is 'Champion'. Please help me figure out how to make them grow better.

My first batch in spring did not turn out good.Planted to close together and not thinned sufficiently. Just planted again in mid-Sept and thinned properly. Looking forward to big fat radishes. You sir a an excellent teacher.

We try to succession plant them about two weeks apart almost year round, especially if we have a mild winter. You're right, they don't do well in the heat of the summer, but we plant them in the shade of larger garden plants, such as tomatoes, beans and peas. Plant them on the north side of the larger plants to get the greatest benefit from their shade.
